With the Robben.App, you can easily give a precise report on a sighting of a marine mammal in Schleswig-Holstein. The App enables a quick response, which provides the seal wardens with all the information they need, thus supporting their work in protecting seals and whales on our coasts.

Every year, many sick or dead seals and whales are discovered along the coasts of Schleswig-Holstein. These are often reported to the police, the seal wardens and the Friedrichskoog Seal Station. Often it is not easy to tell if a seal really needs help. Only experts, the seal wardens, can make that decision. Because of their training, the seal wardens know exactly how to approach the animals and how they can best be helped. Seal wardens also take care of dead animals. Some of the dead animals are later examined to determine the cause of death.

With the Robben.App you can help the seal wardens to ensure the wellbeing of seals and whales on our coast. If you find an animal that you think needs help, you can use the Robben.App to report it immediately to the seal wardens. You can then be sure that they have all the information they need to quickly find and identify the animal.

Become an expert on native seals and whales. In the Robben.App you can learn a lot about the seals and whales that have their home on the coasts of Schleswig-Holstein. You can hear a baby seal calling its mother and watch a harbour porpoise mother roaming the Baltic Sea with her baby. You will learn why the seal wardens are such good seal and whale protectors and how they prepare themselves for this task.

Numerous information centres on the North Sea coast in the Wadden Sea National Park as well as on Schleswig-Holsteins Baltic Sea coast provide information on nature conservation. They have fascinating exhibitions where you can learn even more about animals which live on the coasts and how their habitat is protected. The Robben.App shows you exactly where your nearest information centre is located and the best way to get there.
